If the recorder you receive doesn't natively support 12-bit 4:4:4, you would simply need to download a free firmware upgrade from the Video Devices website. - With regard to data storage, the PIX 240 recorder uses either Compact - Flash memory cards or removable 2.5" solid-state drives. Both types of media are formatted by the PIX recorder as UDF volumes, which makes for seamless compatibility with both Mac OS and Windows systems. The optional PIX-CADDY 2 allows the recorder to hot-swap media and provides Fire - Wire 800, e - SATAp and USB 3.0 connectivity. - The recorder also features some advanced video processing capabilities, including aspect ratio conversions, video scaling, frame rate conversions and 3:2 pulldown removal. Timecode can be derived from an HD-SDI stream, an external jammed source, or from the built-in timecode generator. As a confidence monitor, the PIX 240 offers false color, zebra, peaking and 1:1 pixel mapping.
